Karitiana Man

This image shows a member of the Karitiana community, an Amerindian ethnic group from the Brazilian Amazon, presenting us with his traditional dress. The Karitiana community suffers regular threats from loggers, poachers, and agricultural industries which have taken over their ancestral land. Arnaldo, pictured here, is a teacher in his village, and tells us of the importance of teaching their traditional language and values to the next generation.
